Edinburgh International Book Festival

Black & white sketches of Denise McKeever

Scotland has a wonderful and rich reputation for its great cultural & creative events. From the Edinburgh International Book Festival to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It is definitely one of the greatest celebrations of arts and culture. As an ex-student of Edinburgh College of Art, I had the great pleasure of studying and living in Edinburgh. What a fabulous 4 years, fond memories of the late 80’s early 90’s! For me Edinburgh continues to be one of the most exciting and interesting cities in the World and a hive of creativity, the arts, film, comedy, music & crafts.

MEMORIES

As a B.A. Honours Design graduate many moons ago, studying in Edinburgh still holds wonderful memories of my Art student days. From visiting Edinburgh Zoo and spending days drawing the penguins, gorillas with my giant portable easel. In particular during my foundation year. Where we would be sent off for the day to practice drawing of the wonderful architecture on the mound, the Royal mile or alternatively one of the cities wonderful museums.

Will you be there?

Plus this year you get the opportunity to visit my old haunt! The Edinburgh International Book Festival 2023 is presented at Edinburgh College of Art at Lauriston Place from 4th to 28th of August.
