A couple of years ago I sat in my mum’s living room and watched on with amazement as my four nephews now in their 20’s reminisced over a variety of stories my husband told them as toddlers. One by one each of them interrupted one another in excitement. They recalled their memories of what they knew as the adventures of ‘The Jungle Burn’ now one of my books the Jungle Gym Adventures.
I laughed with hysterics watching their animated faces that reminded me of them aged 3, 4 and 5 years old. They recalled each of the jungle characters from King Leo, Jerry the Giraffe, Elle the Elephant to Ziggy the Zebra. Not one of them forgetting that famous secret password they had to chant aloud!
As always my husband in his usual childish way found a way of sharing with them his knowledge of sports, health and fitness through his magical stories and adventures- now but childhood memories. The Jungle Gym Adventures captured four little boys imagination as they went their ritual route while walking the dog passing an old forest set on the perimeter of an old football field in his home town of Shotts.
Therefore if you are trying to introduce your children to sports the Jungle Gym Adventures is an engaging colourful picture book. And teaches young children about the joy of sports and exercise and working as a team with your friends. This is also a beautiful gift for young children to be enjoyed with parents, grandparents and siblings.
